A metallurgist inspired by mealtime. When you’re a decorated designer, the search for inspiration has no boundaries. Sometimes it’s even found in a stack of pancakes. Brian Tighe was laying the maple syrup on thick when he hopped up and hit the drawing board to sketch out the incredibly unique Drip Tighe™ everyday carry folder. Please, no drooling.
From his shop in Ridgefield, Ontario, Brian Tighe has secured his position at the forefront of the knife industry when it comes to both aesthetics and capability. The Drip Tighe™ sits exactly at that intersection. This solid everyday folder carries a versatile modified drop point blade with a sleek satin finish. The beauty is in the action. Push the thumb stud to open the blade a mere 30 degrees to engage the Outburst assisted opening mechanism. Once the internal spring is activated, the blade bursts fully open and sits snugly in place with a frame lock. When it’s not in use, the powerful spring holds the blade securely closed.
The star of the show: the layered handle design stacked with an exposed stainless steel frame, a black G10 middle layer, and a black woven carbon fiber top layer. As a photographer, metallurgist, and mechanic, Brian Tighe is a man who is confronted with a world of textures. It wasn’t until the maple syrup started dripping that he was seized by inspiration for this handle design.
